First, let’s talk about chronological age. In the United States, your age starts from the second you were born. At your time of birth, you were born at zero years, zero days, zero hours, zero minutes, and zero seconds. It went up from there!

Until your first birthday, your age will be measured by seconds, minutes, hours, days, and months. Once you have been alive for 365 days, your age is measured by years.

Age Formula

Now, let me teach you how to find out when anyone was born without using an age calculator or a birthday calculator. It’s really easy!

The first and most important thing you need to know is if that person has had their birthday this year or not. If they have had their birthday, take the current year, subtract how old they are now, and you will have the year they were born in.

If they haven’t had their birthday yet this year, there is one thing you will need to do differently. Subtract how old they are from the current year, but then subtract one more year!

You have to subtract that extra year, because they haven’t had their birthday. That’s the only difference!

How many days old is a 16 year old?

There are 365 1/4 days in every year. There’s one extra day every four years for leap day. So to find out how many days a 16 year old has been alive, multiply 365 1/4 and 16 together. They are 5,844 days old on their birthday. That includes extra days for leap years!

Then you’ll need to count how many full months it is after their birthday to the current date. Times the number of months by 30.

Then count how many days it is from that date until the current date. Then you will have their exact age!
