Testing, testing, one, two, three. Is this thing on?
Ahem.
Hi everybody!!! My name is Katy and I’m the author of Katy’s Kid Corner!
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Oh no, just another blog,” but let me tell you why this one is going to be a.ma.zing.

But before we get started, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I was in my senior year of high school. Imagine me, decked out in red and black (my school colors) going to every football and basketball game with my friends screaming my lungs out to cheer on our team. I LOVED high school and didn’t want it to end. I started filling out college applications and kept getting stuck on the line where you had to declare your major (picture Michael Scott yelling, “I declare bankruptcy!” Whenever anyone says declare I always think of Michael.
Anyways, I had no idea what to put. I always thought the perfect job would be one where I could do a job say a librarian for a year and after one year, I’d move on to the next job like a chef, and the next year something else. I just thought everything sounded so fun and I didn’t want to do the same thing day after day.
Fortunately, within a week I had two of my teachers tell me I’d make an amazing teacher and I never looked back. Seriously, that’s all it took! I was in hook, line, and sinker. I got my bachelors degree in elementary education and I was offered a teaching job at my first interview. Then, I got my masters degree in curriculum and instruction. I taught third grade for four years and second grade for three years. Teaching was my passion! I gave everything I had to my students. I loved them so much and loved being with them every day.
And then I had a baby. Now, when I was pregnant people kept telling me you might not want to keep teaching. But no! Not me! Teaching was my life! It’s all I thought about dreamt about, and needed.

And then I held my baby girl in my arms for the first time and everything changed. I knew I wanted to stay home and snuggle my baby.
Flash forward almost five years later. I now have three kids, one girl and two boys. But don’t you worry, we’re not finished. We’re hoping to have six kids total, but don’t tell anyone.
For a while, I’ve been thinking about doing something to use my creativity and education while still being able to be home and watch my babies grow. So wouldn’t you know, botta bing botta bomb, I started a blog!
I will share toddler activities, educational ideas, crafts for kids, activities for kids, and just all things kids! I’m so stinkin’ excited to share my ideas with you!! I hope you find something fun here to create memories with your children.
So, welcome! I’m so excited to have you on this journey with me. Thanks so much for being here!
Love, Katy
